I am a huge fan of the Alchemy of England jewelry. I'm very picky when it comes to choosing statement pieces. I bought the "Deception" necklace and "Venetian Mask" ring that are simply gorgeous beyond belief. So when I discovered that the company made a tarot deck based on the Gothic imagery, I had high expectations that the deck will be just as thorough as their jewelry pieces. Boy, was I wrong.
The only plus side that I've seen with the Alchemy of England tarot deck was the beautiful Gothic imagery portrayed on the Major Arcana. However, when we get to the Minor Arcana cards, they were pretty generic. Compared to the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, the pip cards don't follow the same format as the original deck. Instead, we get some sort of a "blah" reaction from the cards. I'm not sure if this was intentional by the artist behind the cards or if it was rushed to get the deck published. Overall, the deck is a nice addition to the collection but in terms of usage, it's not viable for any serious readings.
